Our last shoot of the year was fantastic all-around – great model, wonderful family, to-die-for lighting. It was a little cold, but one year old Austin was full of smiles and fantastic eye-contact, and he did great with all of our location changes. The scenery was so gorgeous, I couldn’t help but take a minute to gaze at the light coming through the clouds and watch the sun set.
We had the pleasure of photographing Presley just before her first birthday. Presley was a darling, happy girl with a large repertoire of looks and expressions and lovely eyes. We had fun with lots of outfit changes and Presley was a sweetheart and just went with it (even smiling while wearing the hair clip that she wasn’t too keen on).
Baby Benjamin is one cute baby! I love how at only five days old, he has some perfect little rolls. And the smiles he gave us…! I think it goes without saying that I thoroughly enjoyed my time rocking him to sleep. This shoot at his house worked out well – we had plenty of light in the upstairs bedroom and mom and dad had some time to relax in their new home. Congratulations on your perfect baby!!
The afternoon before Kieran started kindergarten, we got him and two of his buddies together at the park for an impromptu photo shoot to commemorate the occasion. All three boys were really excited to show off their backpacks, eat apples, and run around in the park. Ainsley even got into the spirit by proudly holding up the chalkboard.
This was a fun shoot. The light was great, the sky was slightly overcast, and we didn’t really have too much of a set plan — we just let the kids play together and ran after them with the camera, which usually results in the most natural photos.
Friends and fellow photographers, the Donovons, asked for a quick photo session to get a few family photos with their daughter, Penny. In just over 20 minutes, we covered several spots at Discovery Lake in San Marcos and only had one run-in with a swarm of mosquitoes. :)
Penny was one of the happiest babies we’ve ever shot — she squealed and laughed whenever I held up her animal glove. A few of our favorite photographs are below.
